March Break: Puppet Creation at the Pines!

This is the perfect March Break event for the creative children in your life; The Pines’ March Break Puppet Creation Workshop, March 12 – 13, 2025!

Professional Puppeteer, Struan Robertson from internationally-recognized Mermaid Theatre (Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia), brings the theatre’s Institute of Puppetry Arts to Digby Pines to conduct a daylong, “Build a Puppet” workshop and performance. Children, from 7 years+ (anyone younger requires parental supervision) will learn from Puppeteer Struan how to create, costume, personalize and manipulate their own puppets – and finish with a "show and tell" on what they have accomplished! All materials for puppet-creation are provided.

March 12- 2025: workshop participants and adults will enjoy The Puppet Slumber Party. (7:30 to 8:30pm). During the slumber party participants will “meet” Struan and Mermaid Theatre’s famous puppets; view shows from Mermaid TV such as Story Box Theatre and The Misadventures of Dobo and talk about the next day’s adventures building puppets!

March 13-2025: hands-on workshop begins at 10:30 am, March 13-2025 concluding with a participants’ performance until 4pm. Limited space is available.

• One overnight stay on March 12, 2025 for 2 adults and 2 children in a resort room, based on availability
• Four tickets to the The Puppet Slumber Party with professional puppet performance by Struan Robertson on March 12-2025
• Participation for 2 children in the day-long Puppet Creation Workshop on March 13, 2025.

Additional night, March 13-2025 including full-hot breakfast, is available to Puppet Creation Workshop participants for $199 plus taxes for 2 adults and 2 children in a resort room, based on availability.

During your weekends at The Pines, consider the 3-course Prime Rib Dinner on Friday nights and the '3-course International Saturdays!' menu on Saturdays. Both offered in Churchill’s Restaurant and both priced at $49 per person (plus applicable tax and gratuity).
